Rapper A$AP Rocky Headed to Trial for Assault
A$AP Rocky is set to stand trial for allegedly assaulting his former friend, Terell Ephron, by twice pulling a gun on him and shooting at him once. The incident occurred in Hollywood in November 2021.
Ephron, who is known by his stage name A$AP Relli, testified that the friendship between the two men had soured and accused Mayers of abandoning other members of the A$AP collective. He also said that Mayers had failed to support other members of the group who had fallen into poverty and drug use.
After the death of one member of the group, Ephron and Mayers clashed in an encounter that was partially caught on surveillance camera. Ephron said that Mayers pulled a gun and threatened to kill him. In a later altercation, Ephron said that Mayers shot at him, grazing his left hand.
Mayers has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently free on bail. His arraignment is scheduled for January 8.
